Middle Georgia State University Dining Services’ executive chefs Chris Caracciolo and Ricky Cameron will compete head-to-head during the inaugural BeWell Iron Chef Cook-off March 17 and 24.
Middle Georgia State University Dining Services is starting a new tradition on campus with its first cooking competition this spring. Executive chefs Chris Caracciolo and Ricky Cameron of Macon and Cochran campuses, respectively, will display their culinary skills in the inaugural BeWell Iron Chef Cook-off. The battle takes place March 17 in Cochran (GA Dining) and March 24 in Macon (Camelot Court) from 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.
During the cook-off, chefs Caracciolo and Cameron will prepare a healthy recipe before a panel of student judges and a live audience. Each recipe must consist of ingredients students can prepare on a limited budget.
Students will judge recipes on nutritional value, creativity, taste, use of healthy ingredients, and presentation.
Attendees will have an opportunity to:
- Sample the foods being prepared
- Get cooking tips from professional chefs
- Collect BeWell recipes to try at home
